Pentagon Pushes Back on Trump Bid to Change Transgender Policy

Bloomberg

The Defense Department said there will be “no modifications” yet to its policy allowing transgender people to serve in the U.S. military, one day after President Donald Trumpunexpectedly said they would be barred from serving.

“There will be no modifications to the current policy until the President’s direction has been received by the Secretary of Defense and the Secretary has issued implementation guidance,” according to a statement Thursday from the office of the Joint Chiefs Chairman Joseph Dunford. “In the meantime, we will continue to treat all of our personnel with respect.”

The announcement appeared to push back against Trump’s announcement on Twitter Wednesday that he “will not accept or allow transgender individuals to serve in any capacity in the U.S. Military.”

The Joint Chiefs statement indicated they need additional guidance to reverse a policy introduced by President Barack Obama. And it suggested that the move is a distraction from the military’s effort to fight multiple conflicts around the world.

“As importantly, given the current fight and the challenges we face, we will all remain focused on accomplishing our assigned missions,” according to the statement.

  1. When they dress like Transgender when we are at war and if they get caught by the enemy ——-they only have themselves to blame. Because what will happen to them will get them killed and more then like in a horrible way.!!!

  2. Sounds like the Pentagon needs a purge. Way too many faggots walking the halls of the Pentagon.

  3. Obama’s top brass needs to be removed from Trump’s military staff! The real Generals and Admirals got fired about 6 to 7 years ago for standing up to social experimentation in the services under Obama.

Having spent 32 years in the military both as enlisted and officer, and then another 10 in federal civil service, I am sickened at the political correctness that I witnessed first hand. It has screwed up the Air Force such that it has become a blue petri dish of social reform in a lab experiment gone wild. Way to many of our senior military leaders have become self serving political animals looking for the next promotion!

  4. The Joint Chiefs say they need additional guidance on this issue, and that it’s a distraction from war fighting. I would think that the much larger distraction would be having to find ways to fund and integrate these people into the military. The guidance part should be quite simple. If you are already in the military you get an immediate medical discharge. If you are trying to enlist, you are denied entry. With sex change medical costs averaging $130,000 per person this should be a no brainer. That cost doesn’t include all of the downtime and disruption that occurs with this procedure. The brass should be jumping for joy to get out from under this mess. Maybe it’s time for Trump to admit that he made a big mistake appointing Mattis. Dunford isn’t even a close call. He needs to go as well.
