Ann Coulter, a stalwart of conservative principals and vehement Trump supporter, attacked him on his use of missiles in Syria, while Charles Krauthammer, a globalist conservative, who believes in large government and is not a Trump supporter, stated, after prefacing his remarks with the fact that he is not an America Firster, went on to praise Trump’s use of Tomahawk missiles against Syria.
And then, the mother of all bombs fell, Coulter said that she didn’t even know what President Trump is thinking; while Krauthammer rallied to Trump, saying that it was a departure from his previously stated policies, and that it is a win for America and the world. He went on to say that he believed it reassuring that America was back in a classic definition of American world diplomacy.
What in the world is going on, old allies feel betrayed, while old antagonists stand up for the President’s actions? Simply put, President Trump is doing exactly what he said that he would do when he ran for office. During his campaign he said that he would make America strong again, he said that he would wipe ISIS off the face of the earth, and that North Korea would never develop weapons capable of striking America. He said all those things, but Coulter, Krauthammer and all the rest, only heard what they wanted to hear.
How did Coulter, Krauthammer, and the rest who decry his actions, think he was going to secure world peace, through a kumbaya moment? It takes strength to secure peace. The old Strategic Air Command’s motto said it all, ‘War is our profession, Peace is our product.” You cannot have one without the other. A strong military, combined with the will to use that strength, creates peace.
The President, in order to carry out his promise not to entangle us in protracted wars of nation building, needed to protect us from enemies who believed that we are a weak, toothless nation incapable of winning wars. In order to carry out his promises, President Trump needed to change Obama policies dealing with the military, while simultaneously letting the world know that it has happened and show his willingness to use that military. Syria provided us with a gift when they gassed their own people; it was the moment of truth for this nation. The retaliatory strike against the airbase was a shot across the bow to all of our enemies and allies alike.
The dropping of the MOAB bomb in Afghanistan signaled two things, our willingness to win wars again, and that this President is not so megalomaniacal that every decision in the prosecution of that victory must be his. He set the goals, told his generals what they were, and expected them to carry out those directives. A look at history shows that those who insist on micromanaging wars turn out the losers. There was Hitler in WWII, Truman in Korea, Johnson in Vietnam, Carter and his hostage rescue in Iran, Clinton in Somalia, and the worst offender of all, Obama, who snatched defeat in the face of victory in both Afghanistan and Iraq, while sending our forces out as cannon fodder with no purpose and no desire to win.
Contrast that with leaders who delegated the goals to their military leaders, and then allowed them the freedom to carry that out as they saw fit. Leaders such as Lincoln in the Civil War, McKinley and the Spanish-American War, Woodrow Wilson in World War I, Franklin Roosevelt in World War II, Ronald Reagan in Granada, Bush Sr. in Gulf War I and Bush Jr. in Afghanistan and Iraq. Of course Bush Jr. listened to his neo-con staff and after clear cut victories, decided to nation build. Still, when he handed off the baton to Obama, he gave him two victories; which dumbo quickly gave away.
Now we have Trump, strapped with God knows how many wars, again thanks to Obama the Horrible. It seems that to the satisfaction of Ann Coulter, and the consternation of Charles Krauthammer, that President Trump plans to exert as much strength as necessary to re-establish America’s world leadership role, and then set obtainable goals, that his general’s will carry out, with no intention of nation building. That is a victory in itself.
He will set goals to win the wars we are in, or pull the troops out. No more protracted wars without a definable victory. That is what he ran on. Like SAC, President Trump wants peace to be his product. Once the chaos is over in the world, he can get back to doing what he does best, and that is building things by making America great again. That is his goal, not some neo-con ideal of nation building that benefits those one world types.
Some of those one world types are at the Huffington Post. That rag ran a piece, in its South African edition, that strongly suggested that it is time to deny white men voting privileges for up to 30 years. In doing so, the author of the piece, Shelly Garland, said, that “toxic white males” were the reason that Brexit passed, Trump was elected and that Le Pen may become President of France. By denying white men the right to vote, worldwide, women can smash the patriarchy and stop the “decline in the influence of reactionary and neo-liberal ideology in the world.” Garland went on to blame white males for “Some of the biggest blows to the progressive cause in the past year.”
No need to go further with her racist, misandrist rantings, I don’t want to give them any more credit by doing so; however, she is not alone in that thought process. Progressives and feminists worldwide, feel that exact way. White men, they believe, are the reason that they are not winning the culture wars. God forbid that it could be their fault. Hillary Clinton knows all about making excuses for not winning.
She was on a pre-book tour, while speaking to her adoring audience she made a myriad of excuses for her loss. Surprisingly, the audience of rabid feminists clapped and cheered her denial of the truth of that loss. Even very left leaning reporters, like Kirsten Powers and Jake Tapper of CNN, both criticized Clinton for her refusal to accept responsibility for her loss.
Powers, pointing to Clinton’s remarks where she spoke about the FBI Director James Comey, WikiLeaks, Russia, misogyny, Senator Bernie Sanders and the media, said, “Never in this equation is Hillary Clinton to blame for anything, and she was, after all, the candidate.” Tapper, on his show, echoed those remarks and then added, “Putin didn’t tell you, ‘Don’t go to Wisconsin.’ James Comey didn’t tell you, ‘call one-quarter of the country’s voters deplorable.”
People, on both the left and right are tired of the Clintons. Actually, those same people are tired of Democrat excuses. The Russias did it excuse has worn so thin that even globalist conservative, never Trumper, Rich Lowry, wrote an article published in the New York Post on April 10, titled, “Turns out Obama was the real Russian stooge.” He starts off stating, “The circumstantial evidence is mounting that the Kremlin succeeded in infiltrating the US Government at the highest levels.”
He then asks how else to explain Obama’s looking the other way after a Russia act of aggression in the nation of Georgia, and shortly afterward pushing his and Hillary’s famous reset button, his agreeing to facilitate a one-sided nuclear deal, mocking the idea of Russia as the number one world threat, welcoming a Russian foothold in the Middle East, refusing to provide arms to the Ukraine after it was invaded by Russia, removing our defensive missiles in NATO countries bordering Russia and pursuing a Moscow-friendly policy on fossil fuels. Then, without embarrassment or even a rebuttal, on an open mic, tells Russian Prime Minister, Dmitry Medvedev at a meeting shortly before the 2012 election, “Tell Vlad that after the election that I will have more flexibility.” Really, he already provided them with 20% of all our Plutonium, what more flexibility did Vlad need?
Lowry then states, “Put this all together and it’s impossible to conclude anything other than that Obama was a Russian stooge-and not out of any nefarious dealings, but out of his own naïveté and weakness.” While this writer doesn’t agree that Obama was naïve, after all, he was a committed Marxist, his weakness is undeniable. Obama’s dealings with Russia were in fact, nefarious. None the less, people are tiring of the Russia did it conspiracy theories thrown out to see if they will stick by Democrats and the MSM.
Events, both national and international are coming to a head at the speed of light. Lois Lerner, you remember, the head of the IRS who broke felony laws by denying conservative groups tax exempt status, while asking questions that she had no legal right to ask, may finally be facing justice. Oh yes, she also lied to congress…a real no no. Two congressmen have asked the Trump Attorney General’s office to investigate. This may be only the tip of the iceberg. Before it is over, there may be hope that all of Obama’s crooked minions are brought to justice, including Obama himself.
Speaking of justice, or the lack of it, former Marine veteran, Sergeant Hisashi Pompey, who served three tours of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan, was arrested in New Jersey with a legally owned handgun that he brought with him from Virginia. A friend took the gun, without his permission and got into a confrontation with police with the weapon. Both the friend and Pompey were charged.
The gun laws in New Jersey, like many eastern seaboard states, are Machiavellian. Pompey is facing up to seven years in prison. While his stupid friend may deserve that punishment for facing off police with the weapon, that should not extend to Pompey. His charge is possessing an unregistered gun. If I am not mistaken, the Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution states, in unambiguous terms, that, “The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.” What part of infringing on a person’s right to keep and bear arms do the legislators in New Jersey not understand? Pompey cannot register the handgun in New Jersey because he lives in Virginia. That seems like an infringement to me.
Maybe the Supreme Court will hear this case. With Justice Neil Gorsuch now on the court, the likelihood that a finding where states cannot prohibit interstate transportation of firearms may finally be adjudicated. Now, wouldn’t that be nice! Police can now carry in all the states, maybe it is time for every legal concealed carry permit holder to do the same. Like a driver’s license which is good in your home state and accepted across the nation, CCW holders should be afforded the same rights. After all, driving a car is a privilege, carrying a firearm is a right.
And one last thing, even without the wall being built between Mexico and the United States, illegal immigration is down 60% since Trump took office. The wall will be built, of that this writer has no doubts, but even if it isn’t, simple enforcement of our existing laws is enough to curtail the flood of illegals that arrived here over the past eight years. Illegal immigration is a major problem and drain on our economy.
Everything from illegals flooding our schools, without paying their share of taxes, to welfare fraud, to identification theft, to rape and murder, this problem cannot be overlooked any longer. President Trump is addressing this along with all the other campaign promises he made. It will simply take a little longer than 100 days to accomplish it all.
All those who voted for this President need to chill just a little, he is doing his best and will not let us down. And for those who are wringing their hands that Steve Bannon seems to be on his way out, and establishment Republicans are taking over; that is an MSM story, wait until a real news outlet gets the real truth.
