Ahmad Khan Rahami’s message to America was exactly what you would expect from a Muslim terrorist.
“Inshallah [Allah willing], the sounds of the bombs will be heard in the streets. Gun shots to your police. Death To Your OPPRESSION,” were some of the words scrolled in a journal FBI agents found with Rahimi when he was taken into custody.
“My heart I pray to the beautiful wise ALLAH. To not take JIHAD away from [me]. I beg…for shahadat [martyrdom],” said the journal, which was damaged during the exchange of gunfire with police that preceded Rahami’s arrest.
Islam. It’s the cause.
Combine that with entries urging the murder of non-Muslims, the motive question is open and shut. Now it’s time to start addressing the ideological basis for Islamic terrorism instead of spouting more nonsense about working with Islamists to fight the internet and the rest of the ridiculous CVE playbook.
